I can’t believe how long it’s been since I stepped into Lush. I used to be obsessed with everything in there so yesteday whilst shopping I decided I was well overdue a spree, so I purchased some of my favourite things but also some new products. Read on to find out what I bought…
I’ve always loved Lush products, especially their bath bombs; however I have seenraving reviews about their face products and especially their face masks, so I thought I would try out ‘Mask Of Magnaminty’.
Recently, I’ve become a lover of all things skin care. Be it moisturiser, wipes, face masks, cleansers and toners; I’ve become obsessed with finding the right things for my skin type (which is oily on most of my face, but kind of dry on my cheeks/forehead). I was shopping around a week and a half ago with one of my friends and decided to go to Boots to see what cleansers they had, as I was currently using my Bioderma and Simple Face Wash, but fancied a change for the spring and summer months.
I stumbled upon the Olay ‘Conditioning Milk’ (aka a cleanser) and had heard about it before from many people, all of them with good reviews. For £4.09 from the Olay website and £2.99 from Boots; how could I not buy and try it?!
(Ps excuse the dirty makeup brushes in the background of the picture- I’ve had no time to clean them… Oops!)
The first thing I loved about it was how big the bottle is. You get so much product for such a little price, which is amazing! Even though it says it is for normal/dry skin, it has aloe vera and cucumber extract in which is also amazing for oily skin, which is the reason why I bought it.
How I use it:
I put some of the product on my finger tips and gently rub it over my face. I leave it on my skin for around 20-30 seconds, then take a cotton pad and gently rub the cleansing milk into my face. The cleansing milk should rub into your face lifting out your face makeup onto the cotton pad. It’s super easy and quick to use and removes 99% of my face makeup. However just to be sure I splash some warm water on my face and pat it dry with a towel. I then use a mattifying moisturiser that’s amazing for oily skin.
Even though there are probably better products than this one, for example the Emma Hardy Cleansing Balm, the Body Shop Balm and the Lush Cleanser also, this one is for a fraction of the price and does the job well.
I recommend this to people who may not be able to afford the above products, and also to people just starting out buying skincare- it’s great!
I have decided that I’m going to post 3 times a week, a Wednesday, Friday and a Sunday as I have exams coming up. I hope you are all okay with this decision!
I also hope you all have enjoyed this post. If you have, please like and follow me- it really means a lot! Have a great evening guys, lots of love; Meg x
Every once in a while I feel super stressed out and just need to take some time out to relax and de-stress. I go back to college tomorrow and it is exactly one month until my first A-Level exam; which is freaking me out! So I thought I would have a little pamper night tonight and hopefully it will make me feel relaxed for tomorrow. Here are some of the things I like to do to relax…
1) Get a nice hot bath using a Lush product.
Tonight I am using the ‘Ickle Baby Bot‘ bath ballistic, which is perfect for when your feeling stressed as its main ingredient is lavender, so within a few minutes it will make you feel more relaxed. It will also help you go to sleep easier if you cannot sleep; so I thought this was perfect for helping me get a good nights sleep before tomorrow! Here is what the cute little guy looks like!
2) Use my favourite body wash products and also use a face mask.
I find using my favourite scents in body washes/scrubs also helps me relax whilst I am in the bath.
Tonight, I’m using The Body Shop ‘Moringa Body Scrub‘ to exfoliate any dry areas I may have on my arms and legs, and then to leave my skin feeling moisturised I’m using Soap & Glory ‘Sugar Crush’ Body Wash. This stuff smells aaaammaaaaazing and is perfect for leaving your skin feeling super smooth. After my bath I will use the Sugar Crush Body Butter also to leave my skin feeling even more nourished! For a face mask I’m using the Superdrug ‘Cucumber Cooling Clay Mask’. This is amazing for refreshing the skin and also making it feel soft. After getting out of the bath I will then use all my skincare products on my face. To see what I use, you can check out the post I did on my skincare routine here.
3) Grab a good book, my favourite snack and a nice cup of tea.
At the moment I’m currently reading ‘You’re The One That I Want‘ by Giovanna Fletcher and I have to say I’m really liking it. It’s funny and also has a good storyline to it. If you’re a fan of romance novels then I suggest you give this a read, you can pick it up super cheap too!
I then like to make myself a cup of tea as I love drinking tea in the evening. It makes me feel sleepy which is perfect for getting a good nights sleep! My favourite snack at the moment is the McVities Hobnob Flapjack with chocolate on top, however I didn’t have any of them left so I had to settle for a plain one *sob*!
4) Light a candle.
I love burning candles as I think the scents can also make you feel chilled out and relaxed. In my bathroom at the moment I’m burning the ‘Sweet Berry’ scent by Victoria Meredith which I thiiiiinnkkk you can buy from Card Factory; but correct me if I’m wrong!
Throughout the day I also like to burn candles in my room to have my room smelling sweet. However I cannot remember what scents I have in my room but lemme just tell you they smell delightful!
When I’m out the bath I like to put on a pair of my favourite pyjamas that I will have previously put on the radiator to get all warm and cosy.
After doing all these things I normally feel like I’m in the clouds and 100% relaxed. Actually, whilst writing this I feel like I could just drop off to sleep right now; but I can’t as I have a ton of French work to do.. Waaaa!

Can you believe it? I’ve gone A FULL WEEK with wearing makeup. Only because it’s the holidays though. Next week I’ll be back to looking dead with no makeup on at College haha. I did a copper toned eye look today, and here are the products I used;
- Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in Ivory
- MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15
- MAC Studio Fix Powder
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer
- Sephora Blusher
- MUA Pro Brow Kit in Fair Medium
- Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette
- Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Eyeshadow Palette (not pictured)
- MAC Pro Longwear Liquid Eyeliner in Rapid Black
- Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner
- Eyeko Black Magic Mascara
- Collection Cream Puff Matte Lip Cream in Cotton Candy
Here is the finished look;
It’s the first time I have ever done a copper eyed look on myself and I have to say- I love it! It’s so simple for everyday wear and if you want to glam it up for a night, just add a little more bronzer, highlight your cheekbones, create a more smoked eye and voila! I love doing my makeup, it makes me feel all nice. What does your everyday makeup consist of? Let me know in the comments! Have a lovely evening all! If you enjoyed this post, gimme a like and follow 🙂 xo
I’ve been shopping again today, which is no surprise haha. I was in need of some new Lush products for the bath as I had nearly run out, so I went in and picked up a few items. Continue reading “Everyone Loves Lush (MINI HAUL) “
Being someone who is OBSESSED with all things Lush, I love trying out new products that I have never tried before. Tonight I am trying ‘Twilight’ which is a bath bomb/fizzer. I’ve heard great things about this bath bomb, as it is apparently very moisturising and also looks very pretty while being in the bath. This is what the product looks like:
It is quite big, and smells delicious, like some sort of flower. When I first put it into my bath it fizzed automatically and created white and pink swirls all around the tub.
